I have to say a big thank you to Shaadi.com. This is the best site for finding your life partner as it attracts the best people. I have tried others but Shaadi.com was the best! I joined in Nov 2005, and then decided to become a member for a 3 month period as I wanted to make personal contacts and use the chat facility. I was losing hope with the site after a few months as I had tried to contact a few people but was getting no positive responses. One week I was checking to see which contacts were online and there I met Divya, who is now my fianc?! It was my lunch break and my fianc? Divya was getting ready to leave for the office as she was working nights. I can remember that day like it was yesterday. We only had a brief chat for a few minutes but agreed to meet the next day online. We then started to chat online everyday and started to exchange SMS messages. I made my first call to her on Valentines Day, the line was bad, but the call went well as we could easily communicate on the phone. By this time I was falling in love with Divya but wanted to meet her in person as I felt this was very important. We then decided to meet in Thailand as she was visiting her father there. I came with my parents and sister. We had an awesome time and when I saw her at the airport I knew she was the one for me! It was like we had known each other for so long; we clicked so well with no awkwardness at all. It was so hard to leave for home but in the back of my mind I knew I had done it and found my life partner. We saw many sites in Thailand and both our families also got on well too. Back at home I decided to find the perfect engagement ring and when this was in my possession I had to give it to her soon. Divya was planning to come to the UK in July but this was too long a wait to give her the ring. Her Birthday was coming up in May so I thought to myself this will be an awesome time to propose. I also wanted to keep the trip a surprise so I arranged this with her parents. The Birthday went well and we went to a beautiful place called Bang-Pa Inn Palace. I knew that this was the perfect place to propose. This was the happiest day of my life when Divya said ?yes?. Then we kept on chatting daily for such long periods at a time. I have known her now for 6 months and it seems so much longer. Divya came to UK in July and we got officially engaged on the 26th of July at home in Bolton. It was a small ceremony and a perfect day. Our wedding date has been fixed for the 19th of February 2007 in Jaipur; I can?t wait for that day! Another big thank you to Shaadi.com.

April fool's day 2004.. not the most romantically known date in the world but was certainly the most memorable one for us.. This was the first day that we met and spent together. Tired of the single life, we both searched for someone meaningful and now we sit here on our big blue couch happily today after more than two years of being together and 8 months of marriage, two moves with a dog( one across states-- La to Ca and the other intrastate), and hurricanes not dissuading us from marriage and being together. If anyone has ever been leary of finding their special someone online, this is a great place to start. Not everybody will fit the bill, but patience as we know often rewards in the end.
